Working closely with a PADI Instructor, you'll expand your dive

1) Integrated with our 4 week Divemaster internship is the PADI Project Aware Coral Watch program. You'll learn to assess the condition of corals and record their health, and upload to a scientific database. This valuable program will improve your understanding of Coral Reefs and you'll give back a valuable contribution to the Coral Watch program and to the understanding of the condition of reef systems in the Caribbean.
2) Our upgraded preferred partner prestige card, UDC is a member of the Central America TrekCATS program, and you'll receive reduced rates and preferential treatment at members throughout Central America, and also with our preferred partners in Thailand, Indonesia and Australia. You get the Prestige card to prove it!
3) As a DSAT Technical diving facility, the Utila Dive Centre, runs monthly technical diving courses. You'll get the opportunity to be trained as a DSAT Tec Support diver, and learn about the logistics of technical dive mission, and provide valuable support and assistant to our technical diving Instructors and students. We're the only facility in the Bay Islands with an approved Tec Support diver specialty (we wrote the course)!!!!

Book a Beautiful Oceans Coral Reef Guardian or Science Instructor course with our PADI Divemaster or Instructor training and receive immediate online access to the Beautiful Oceans e-academy. This allows you to make the most productive and constructive use of your time prior to arriving at Utila Dive Centre and you'll get online access to the Beautiful Oceans state-of-the-art online course material, videos, quizzes and exams. You'll rapidly improve your knowledge of the Caribbean coral reef ecosystem, its architecture and and the food web, and arrive on the island of Utila, Honduras, with an intimate knowledge and scientific understanding of the environment where you'll soon be working as a dive professional. Whilst studying online, our staff will be able to guide you through the materials and grade your assignments. What can PADI Divemasters do?
* Work at local dive centers, on live-aboard dive boats, yachts and at exotic
resort locations.
* Assist PADI Instructors with students, and at Utila Dive Centre we have classes starting on a daily basis with plenty of opportunity for you to gain experience
* Lead PADI Scuba Divers on guided dive tours, and we have several boat trips per day, with full service, taking you to the best dive sites in comfort
* Teach and certify PADI Skin Divers

What do I need to start?
* PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or qualifying certification from another
training organization
* PADI Rescue Diver certification or qualifying certification from another training
organization.
* Medical clearance signed by a physician
* 20 logged dives
This program welcomes you to the ranks of a PADI dive
professional. The PADI Divemaster rating is the most sought after
professional qualification in the dive industry and Divemaster training
can be conducted in 2 different options, the Practical Application
method which can take 12 days or the internships which can take 3-4
weeks. The program consists of 3 separate modules,
knowledge development, waterman ship and practical training.
During knowledge development you’ll learn about supervising both
students and certified divers in addition to gaining theoretical diving
knowledge about physics, physiology, skills and environment, equipment
and the recreational dive planner. You’ll also put your practical
training into developing an underwater map of a local dive site.
As part of the program you’ll be assisting our experienced team of
Instructors as they conduct PADI training programs with student
divers. You’ll also get experience working as a dive guide by
guiding certified divers on our dive trips to Utila’s famous North side
dive sites.
Under our direct supervision and with guidance and counseling from our
experienced Instructors at the Utila Dive Centre, you’ll soon develop into a true dive
professional. In fact many of our Divemasters go on to
successfully complete PADI Instructor training and gain employment throught Central America and the Caribbean. The waterman ship
module will develop your strength and skills in the water and develop
your confidence to a strong level of comfort. At the Utila Dive
Centre we put no time limit on the length of time you can stay with us
so the more you put into this program the more you get out of it.
We provide real world teaching experiences and are not a factory and
train all of our trainees as if they plan to go on to become
Instructors.
You'll also get to take advantage of the great diving on our Caribbean Divemaster course and as part of the service we provide to our Divemasters you’ll be offered
specialty training in areas of diving where you have accumulated
additional experience e.g. Fish Identification, Deep diving, Equipment
maintenance etc…
We're the only facility on Utila currently running scheduled technical diving courses and you'll also be offered the opportunity to assist as a technical support diver in the later weeks of your training. As part of the service we provide to our Divemasters you’ll be offered
