IANTD Advanced Nitrox
If you valued and enjoyed your ‘Deep Air’ training then here is
your next step. This course will extend your knowledge and develop your
diving skills to provide a greater understanding of the ‘Enriched Air’
concept. This course is ideally combined with the IANTD ‘Deep Air’
course to start your training in the sport of technical diving.
Learning advanced dive planning and mastering the use of double tanks,
independent systems, and stage bottles are just a few of the skills you
will learn during this course. This course is ideal for divers
with ‘Deep Air’ training who wish to carefully extend their bottom
times beyond that of basic nitrox and for all divers who wish to
prepare for a future of technical or rebreather diving, and those who
wish to conduct serious decompression dives and who eventually will
enroll in an IANTD ‘Technical Diver’ program.
This is the highest level of non-professional and non-technical diver
certifications and prerequisites are a minimum of 18 years of age with
a nitrox diver certification and a ‘Deep Air’ certification from a
recognized training agency or proof of experience to the same level.
This course is outlined as a two day program with around 6 hours of
classroom, dive briefing and open water training involves 4 dives to a
maximum depth of 130 feet/40 meters. The breathing gasses can be
nitrox or air using one nitrox decompression mix up to 50%, carried in
a stage bottle while practicing various decompression techniques with
the introduction and use of computer generated decompression profiles
for dive planning. During this course the student will be diving in
double tanks and technical dive gear in a maximum course size of 4
students per Instructor.
After completion and certification of this course divers will be issued
a certification card as well as being qualified to plan and safely
execute dives to the limit of training while using different equipment
configurations, air, and nitrox mixes up to 50% Oxygen. This
course is 3 days in duration.
