It's not just my love affair with Central America that has seen me living in this region for over the last 10 years. One of the great things I enjoy about training PADI Instructors in our IDC on Utila (and offering other courses through Utila Dive Centre) is the atmosphere, high standard and internship programs that we have designed in order to get you off to the best start as a PADI Instructor on Utila, throughout Central America, or other scuba diving resort destinations around the world. We have evolved our previous referral scheme 'Prestige card' into a new collaboration between the top dive centers and destinations worldwide. Utila Dive Centre and GoPro Utila have now formed a referral scheme with the following dive operations worldwide;

This scheme is in addition to our local Central/South America referral scheme. All our students and divers receive a membership card and reduced rates (5-10%)/preferential treatment at any of these quality dive operations. It's Official - Best PADI IDC centre in the World!
At the DEMA USA dive shows in both 2011 and 2010, we were voted #1 Instructor Development Center by PADI Americas and recognised by industry peers and professionals as the the best location for Instructor training. We'll let the title and the logo to the left explain this one, but just to let you know it was awarded by Sport Diver (the official publication of the PADI Diving Society), and voted for by the diving community.
Double Awards from PADI worldwide for UDC at DEMA dive show
The management team at Utila dive center were awarded exceeding excellence for their activities both in and out of the water. At the October 2007 DEMA dive show in Orlando, UDC collected 2 awards from PADI Worldwide in recognition of the support that Utila Dive Center provides for the local dive community on Utila, the Bay Islands, and in Honduras, with a second award to the UDC Instructor Development team for their Instructor training efforts and to raising the 'bar' in their PADI 'GoPro' programs. It's no secret amongst divers that UDC provides the best in-water experiences, training and education programs, with marine conversation efforts previously awarded by project Aware.
