Continue Technical Diving on Utila, Honduras with the PADI DSAT Tec 45 course
Why DSAT Tec 45?
If you're interested in technical diving, but haven't yet met the full prerequisites for the DSAT Tec Deep Diver course (or wish to further your depth limitations beyond the Tec 40), then you can consider continuing on the Tec 45. If you're not already a technical diver, then we can combine the Tec 40/45 courses. These 2 programs are also a subcourse of the full PADI DSAT Tec Deep Diver course.
What do I need to start?
PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization)
PADI Enriched Air Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization)
PADI Deep Diver or experience (or qualifying certification from another organization)
Have a minimum of 50 logged dives, of which at least 10 must be enriched air dives, 12 must be deeper than 18 meters/60 feet and at least six must be deeper than 30 meters/100 feet
Hold PADI Tec 40 certification or we can integrate Tec 40/Tec 45 as one course
Minimum age: 18 years old
What will I do?
You'll learn to make gas switch, extended no-decompression dives using air and enriched air to 45 meters/145 feet. In addition to the motor skills performed on the Tec 40 course you'll also learn;
- Staging and retrieving 2 decompression tanks
- Out of air gas sharing whilst swimming exercise
You'll also prepare for and respond to foreseeable technical diving emergencies. Since it's part of the Tec Deep Diver course, your PADI DSAT Tec 40/45 course training credits toward the DSAT Tec Deep Diver course.
What will I need?
Tec Deep Student Crew-Pak, which includes student manual, planning slate and checklist slate.
How much does it cost?
Course fee $550 per module ($500 per module if Tec 40/45 or Tec 45/50 combined, $1350 for Tec 40/45/50 combined), plus $50 for manual/slate, and $3 per day reef fee, also $15-25 a day equipment rental.
This course is a sub-course of the Tec Deep Diver course. If you already hold the PADI DSAT Tec 40 certification (or equivalent), the course takes 2 days of diving - or we can offer the PADI DSAT Tec 40/45 combined courses in 5 days. This course builds on the training, dive planning and technical motor skills learned in the Tec 40 course and allows the diver to make gas switch decompression dives to 145ft/45 meters using air and enriched air (up to 50% oxygen) for conservatism or to accelerate decompression, with no time restrictions on the amount of decompression time you can build up. You'll also be trained in the use of technical diving equipment and procedures, be trained in the motor skills needed for technical diving, understand and acknowledge the hazards and risks involved in technical diving, prepare for and respond to reasonably foreseeable emergencies that may occur in this type of diving and provide the foundational skills and knowledge necessary for continuing onto the PADI Tec 50 or completing the entire Tec Deep Diver course.
